In 1984, they spoke of video screens which told people how to act and think... isn't this essentially what is going on with the 300+ cable channels now?

Yes, and you need to realize that in the book 1984, they could also see you through the TV screens as well..... Is Big Brother really watching? *becomes paranoid and tosses her TV out the window*

Well, not having a TV I can only theorize...
TV doesn't tell us how to think and act, it tells us how everone else thinks and acts. The organizers do their homework. They research what the people want and feed it right back to them.
Its kind of like putting everyone's brain together into a giant blender.

Kill your television. It is subversive. It is after your brain. It wants total submission. You are less then nothing to it. It has your number and is calling you...calling you. Quick turn it off before it subsumes your brain into it's web of mindless crawling worms. Hurry...before it's too...OH NO...it's got me...I'm melting, m.e.l.t......(&*$6#5))&8#&%3))9=366%&
