My parents divorced years ago. My mom stayed until I was 12 and my brother was 17 ... she said she didn't want to leave when we were younger because it would have been hard for us. What was hard for us, was living with two parents who didn't love or respect each other anymore and were completely miserable. Sometimes divorce can be a blessing .. especially if the parents can still be "friends" afterwards. My parents are very civil ... we still celebrate holidays together, etc. It took some getting used to at first, but now I'm just blessed to have 2 parents that are living their lives happily ... for once.

yeppers! My parents have been married for 27 years and love each other more every day! I can't thank God enough for such a blessing in my life! They have set an excellent example for me if and when I ever get married. Honestly, I believe that alot of my personal security is a result of their strong marriage. I have never had to worry about them leaving each other and I know that they have mastered the art of open communication. My family really shares alot of good quality conversations together. My parents strong marriage has created such a safe haven from the outside world as I was growing up.

No they separated almost 3 years ago now after 21 years of being married! My mom is so much happier now, It’s like she's a different person (in a good way) it’s great to see her individuality shine through now and seeing a genuine smile on her face everyday.

yes. They met in January of 1963 married in March of 1963 and have been together ever since. =)

still together? as in not divorced? yes. but unfortunately, Mom died, so for awhile they are physically apart...they were married 44 years here on earth
